Turning 43 today...
KCRF Week 1
Where to begin? So much to talk about and so much I probably won't be able to include and not ramble on and on. Well, to start out Chris and I went Saturday and Sunday, other obligations kept us from going again on Monday too. Many, many thanks to Maev who generously hosted us for the entire weekend.
This was Chris's first "real" ren faire and Maev set her up in some wenchly garb for Saturday (sorry, don't seem to have any pics of that). But we quickly went to work shopping and before long she had her own stuff. Needless to say Chris had been bitten hard and quickly by the rennie bug and is now full fledged, even has her own Tri Canis Knox mug. I thought the gown, bodice and other things she picked out fitted her style well and she is very happy with them too.
I saw so many old friend in the lanes I am not going to try and mention everyone because I know I will forget and neglect mentioning some. It was fantastic to see also some folks from RS too. I was very, very impressed with some of the new and returning acts and characters this year. The yeoman's camp was a nice addition and it was neat to see them drilling throughout the day. The Vulgarians were also quite a presence, Her Majesty and court looked great as always. I also very much enjoyed seeing my old buddy and former sidekick Billy as one of the Three Musketeers.
One of the great benefits of being a "born-again" playtron this year was being able to catch the acts, great to see Tartanic once gain, Get Shrewed was great, as well as the Limeys, but because of the crowds we didn't get to really see the Rogers and for some reason never got around to catching Mental Pause either. But we have many more weekends to be able to see everything we missed.
Again, you can see the pics in my gallery under "KCRF 2007"
Definitely getting excited about the beginning of faire season! -DQX
Back Home... pics to come
KCRF nears
I am planning on being at KCRF for opening cannon this weekend. Want to send my wishes for a great run to all my friends on cast this year, break a leg gang! Can't wait to stroll the shaded lanes of Canterbury and see everyone once again.
